HISTORY
Spirit Walkers have been around for thousands of years, ever since the first Immortal was created by the God of all Gods, Nymos. This God first created the Immortal because strange things had been happening on Earth, concerning demons and other evil supernatural beings that had been devouring humans. At first the demons only did if very rarely as a snack, but then more and more demons started feeding off the humans and Nymos had to act before the entire human race became extinct.
The very first Immortal was made to bring the demons to justice by setting up boundaries that the demons had to stick to or else they'd be killed. But the lone Immortal knew he couldn't do it alone so he asked Nymos for more help and Nymos agreed, sending fifteen more Immortals down to Earth to watch over the humans. Together the sixteen of them created the boundaries necessary and thus the Mortal and Immortal realms were created. Earth was now at peace once more and the humans had no recollection of anything supernatural going on. Well, that's what the Immortals thought anyway. In reality there was a group of rebel humans called Blood Falcons and these people knew everything about the supernatural world, or so it seemed. This group of rebels were training to beat the members of the supernatural world so they could take over so there would be nothing that wasn't normal in the world. So they went to war with the Immortals. Hundreds died. Most of the human group was wiped out and only eleven Immortals remained. After this the Immortals were extra careful to make sure no humans knew about them. The first Spirit Walker came about when one human in particular caught Nymos' eye - Louis Hugh. The God ordered the Immortals to train him until he became the best of the best, and so they did. They injected him with a serum that made his senses far more advanced than any human's ever could be. The serum transformed him further than the Immortals ever anticipated though. It destroyed his soul and made him completely bound to his new way of life and nothing could change him. More Spirit Walkers came about when Louis stole the serum out of greed and started to inject random human's. Dozens of the new species were created but some of the humans didn't change at all. Some of the humans injected simply had a sort of allergic reaction and they started to deteriorate and eventually died a most painful death. And by the time the Immortals realised what had happened no less than fifty new Spirit Walkers had been made. And together they decided Louis had to be stopped and they sentenced him to death. But only later did they find out the serum injected into the humans by Louis was the new and improved serum they'd been working on. The new serum did everything the first did except it still allowed individuals to regain some of their human nature so they weren't complete robots. The Immortals trained these new Spirit Walkers and they became the best assassins ever created. And eventually the Spirit Walkers evolved from these first fifty. Years later the Immortals came up with a set of rules this new species had to follow or they'd be sent to the Wastelands, exiled. |
